The BaoFeng UV-5R is a compact portable dual-band VHF/UHF radio with a transmission power of up to 5 W. It is ideal for users looking for a versatile, easy-to-carry and easy-to-configure radio with a wide range of communication and monitoring functions.
The dual LCD display and DTMF keypad allow direct frequency entry and management of up to 128 memory channels. The radio can be programmed directly from the keypad or connected to a computer for convenient configuration.
The Dual Watch function allows monitoring of two frequencies, while VOX enables voice-activated transmission without pressing the PTT button. CTCSS/DCS codes help filter unwanted communications and reduce interference.
The UV-5R also features a built-in LED flashlight and an FM radio receiver covering 65–108 MHz. The detachable SMA-F antenna can be removed for transport or replaced with a compatible model.
The 7.4 V / 1800 mAh Li-Ion battery powers the radio, while the standard 2-pin Kenwood accessory connector allows compatibility with a wide range of headsets and speaker microphones.
