Border guard breast badge - 29 XI 1943 - Commemoration of Republic Day of Yugoslavia - Yugoslav Army JNA military surplus - metal - good condition

Original breast badge belonging to the Yugoslav People’s Army (JNA - Jugoslovenska Narodna Armija), border guard unit.

Military insignia used during the transition period of 1991–1992 for NCOs and officers, after the removal of the five-pointed star symbol. The JNA inscription is written in Cyrillic, which is why many people mistakenly read it as “JA”.

The badge represents the border units of the SFR Yugoslav Army under the leadership of Marshal Josip Broz Tito.
