         Original badge issued in 1976 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the National People's Army (Nationale Volksarmee - NVA) of the German Democratic Republic (GDR / DDR).

      The badge design depicts the main branches of the NVA: a tank, representing the Land Forces, a warship, symbolizing the People's Navy (Volksmarine), and three MiG fighter aircraft, representing the Air Forces and Air Defence (Luftstreitkräfte/Luftverteidigung).

         The badge is made of metal and retains its original pin-back fastening.
