The BaoFeng BF-A58 is a dual-band VHF/UHF handheld two-way radio with a transmission power of up to 5 W, designed for use in various conditions. Its robust construction and IP67 rating provide protection against dust and the effects of temporary immersion in water.

The radio is equipped with a dual LCD display and a DTMF keypad, allowing direct frequency entry and management of up to 128 stored channels.

The Dual Watch function allows simultaneous monitoring of two channels, while the VOX system enables voice-activated transmission.

CTCSS/DCS codes help reduce interference and allow communication groups to be selected according to the code in use. The radio can be programmed directly via the keypad or through a computer using software compatible with version v291+.

The model also features a built-in LED flashlight, an FM radio covering 65–108 MHz, and a 1750 Hz tone generator.

Power is supplied by a 7.4 V, 1800 mAh Li-Ion battery. The radio supports selectable frequency steps of 5, 6.25, 10, 12.5 and 25 kHz.

For accessories, the radio uses an SMA-Female antenna connector and a 2-pin Kenwood K1 accessory connector, compatible with various headsets and external speaker microphones.
