Field products in PL Woodland camouflage provide NIR (Near Infrared), also referred to as IRR (Infrared Reflective) functionality. The materials used help reduce the contrast of the wearer's silhouette when viewed through devices operating in the near-infrared spectrum. All visible fabrics and components are selected to absorb, reflect, and transmit radiation in a way that closely resembles the natural woodland terrain. Each material is tested under both laboratory and field conditions using a spectrophotometer and analog night-vision devices. Made from ripstop polyester to keep out rain and resist abrasion and snags, the ripstop weave prevents tears from spreading.

Ultra-lightweight thanks to simplified design

Structural elements of the Lightweight Poncho were reduced to the bare minimum. Metal eyelets were replaced with sturdy webbing loops, reducing weight and packed volume without altering unfolded dimensions.

The poncho is lightweight and takes up very little space, packing into a small pouch that fits into backpack pockets or glove compartments.

The loose fit allows wearing the poncho over clothes and a medium-sized backpack. The drawstring hood adjusts precisely to protect against wind and rain.
